Among some comics “Late Show” has a reputation for favoring a certain profile. “The types they seem to like are middle-aged white men from the Midwest,” the comic Amy Schumer said. Only one woman (Karen Rontowski) was booked in 2011. “There are a lot less female comics who are authentic,” Mr. Brill said. “I see a lot of female comics who to please an audience will act like men.”

Such a slap in the face to every hardworking comic female comic out there…Sorry I have to specify gender, this article forces me too. I just call them comics, every day I go to a club or bar to work on my comedy I see goddammned hilarious women who could put most of the men working in comedy to shame. Letterman should be fucking appalled by this article. It is hard enough to make it in the world of comedy I couldn’t imagine opening the NY Times and seeing a path BARRED to me by one goddamned person. fuck this noise
